RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Microsoft SQL Server databases
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes.
- Monitor the system's health and performance
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time.
- Provide suggestions for solutions.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with query tuning, and schema refinement, develop queries, and update the database.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
- Troubleshoot issues that might be related to SQL Server authentication, backups, triggers, database mail, indexing and auditing
- Promote security and best practices related to data privacy for all cloud-based data sources
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Must know SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).
- Must know Crystal Reports.
- Must be able to write scripts / stored procedures.
- Must be able to write indexes and should have strong knowledge.
- Experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
- Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models.
- 1 year of experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- 3 years of experience with Windows servers.
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP communications, web servers, firewalls, SSL communications
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team and be comfortable providing daily written updates to team members and coordinating with multiple teams to provide support in high-priority issues
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications are a plus
- Required Experience: Minimum 2 years
