We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Assistant HR professional to join our team. The Assistant HR will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions and processes to ensure the smooth operation of our human resources department. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR policies, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting orientation for new hires.
- Maintain accurate employee records and files, both electronic and physical, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Assist in benefits administration, including enrolment, changes, and addressing employee inquiries related to health, and other benefits.
- Coordinate and support training and development initiatives, including scheduling training sessions, tracking attendance, and collecting feedback.
- Assist in the implementation of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks, ensuring alignment with legal and ethical standards.
- Handle day-to-day HR administrative tasks such as filing, document preparation, and employee communication.
- Support employee relations by addressing questions, and concerns, and providing general assistance to employees.
- Assist in performance management processes, including tracking performance evaluations and assisting managers in setting performance goals.
- Participate in HR projects such as employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion efforts, and process improvement initiatives.
- Manage and update HR databases, spreadsheets, and reports to ensure the accuracy and accessibility of HR information.
- Assist with exit processes, including conducting exit interviews, processing paperwork, and ensuring a smooth departure for departing employees.
- Stay updated on HR trends, legal requirements, and best practices to provide informed recommendations and contribute to the development of HR strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (HR certification is a plus).
- 5+ years of working experience in the IT industry.
- Familiarity with HR software and tools for employee record-keeping and data management.
- Strong understanding of HR principles, policies, and employment laws.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR software systems.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Customer-focused attitude and a commitment to providing excellent service to employees.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
